IC 7th Grade Projects Zodiac Constellations Utilizing whiteboard technologies (Smart & Promethean), students learned about the stars that make up the Zodiac Constellations of our Milky Way Galaxy. Students interacted with the whiteboard by uncovering constellations using magic ink, pulling out answers using pullies, and navigating a sun graphic across a star map tracing it's path along the sun signs. Each student had an opportunity to draw their own zodiac constellation on the whiteboard. They also created a word cloud (using the adjectives that describe their zodiac characteristics), a star finder, and a planisphere.
CrashnotesA take off on a web site called "sparknotes." Students read the story Crash by Jerry Spinelli then used PowerPoint to recreate a home page with hyperlinks to the Plot Overview, Characters, Setting, Study Questions, and Works Cited. Students also created a "word cloud" using Wordle.
Barbarian Recruitment Poster Plot posters were created using PowerPoint to advertise for new recruits into a student-designed Barbarian clan. Students included the name of their clan, reasons for joining a clan, clan benefits, and sign-up procedures. Plot posters were embellished using the clan colors for a border, clipart, student's image, text box borders, and special bullets. Appropriate barbarian headgear was then drawn on the poster as a "crowning" touch!

Social Studies students individually researched a foreign country to create a tri-fold travel brochure using Microsoft Publisher.
